Josephine Perrine
Josephine is a homeschooling grandma of four. With no previous homeschooling
experience, she began researching before her first grandson was even a year old and
soon decided that a classical method would be best. Alas, there were several beautiful
Christian programs, but none seemed to be specifically Catholic. A simple google
search of “classical homeschool education for Catholics” revealed Catholic
Schoolhouse, and to her delight there was a chapter close by.
She immediately reached out to the director and purchased Year (now Tour) 3 for her,
by then one year old grandson and was hooked. As soon as he turned three, he was
enrolled in the Pre-Grammar class. At this point, there was now a little sister and a little
boy cousin in tow, and they were assigned to the nursery.
After three wonderful years of CSH participation, COVID caused the chapter to shut
down. For 2021 and 2022, the family was part of two different Coops, which were
lovely, but they longed for CSH. In 2023, they joined a wonderful Chapter which was
quite a distance from home – but well worth every minute of the drive, and they, along
with another little sister in the nursery, loved it for the next two years.
At present, Josephine is thrilled to have been called to approach her parish where they
were welcomed and approved to set up a local chapter. The enthusiasm and longing
for CSH from previous members, and many others, in the community allowed the
chapter to be at capacity within six weeks of announcing pre-registration.
There is a vibrant and excited team of 25 families totaling 75 children, at all levels, who
are eagerly enrolled for the 2025 – 2026 school year.
